She is best known for her work on the show “The Cosby Show” and its spin-off series “The Cosby Kids.” Camille was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 17, 1965. She moved with her family at six to Greenwich Village in New York City. She graduated from Brown University with a political science degree before earning her Ph.D. from Yale University, where she was a research associate at Yale Law School. While at Yale, she met her future husband, comedian Bill Cosby.

After completing his under graduate studies at the University of Maryland, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy. On January 25, 1964, they married in the Catholic Church (Camille being notably devout). She had five children, Erica (born 1965), Erin (born 1966), Ennis (April 15, 1969 – January 16, 1997), Ensa (April 8, 1973 – February 23, 2018) and Evan (born 1976)
